FASTENMASTER EXPANDS CORTEX HIDDEN FASTENER OPTIONS FOR TREX DECKING

FastenMaster’s Cor­tex screw and plug sys­tem has long been the PRO’s choice for hid­den fas­ten­ing in Trex Deck­ing. Now, Fas­ten­Mas­ter is expand­ing its hid­den fas­ten­ing offer­ings to include new stain­less steel fas­ten­ers for coastal appli­ca­tions and driller screws for met­al deck fram­ing.

The Cor­tex Hid­den Fas­ten­ing Sys­tem remains the fastest and eas­i­est way to con­ceal fas­ten­ers in deck­ing boards from all major man­u­fac­tur­ers, includ­ing Trex. The new 316 marine grade fas­ten­ers are now avail­able nation­wide, mak­ing them ide­al for var­i­ous coastal and high-mois­ture appli­ca­tions such as decks, docks, patios, board­walks, pool sur­rounds, and out­door show­er stalls. These cor­ro­sion-resis­tant fas­ten­ers are avail­able in 2 ½‑inch lengths and fea­ture the TORX® ttap® Dri­ve Sys­tem, ensur­ing easy instal­la­tion with min­i­mal strip-out.

FastenMaster’s Driller screws for met­al fram­ing are made of 410 coat­ed stain­less steel and designed for use in steel or alu­minum deck fram­ing appli­ca­tions. The fas­ten­ers are 1 5/​8‑inches long and also fea­ture the TORX® ttap® Dri­ve Sys­tem for a wob­ble-free installation.

Both the Driller screws and stain­less-steel fas­ten­ers are pack­aged for 100 square foot appli­ca­tions, and each box includes enough fas­ten­ers for two per board instal­la­tion every 16-inch­es on cen­ter plus a set­ting tool.

Col­lat­ed Cor­tex Plugs are now avail­able sep­a­rate­ly from the screws. Plugs are avail­able in all Trex board lines includ­ing Sig­na­ture, Tran­scend, Tran­scend Lin­eage, Select and Enhance. The col­lat­ed plugs come in box­es of 400 and include one set­ting tool.

Time stud­ies have shown that installing pre-aligned, col­lat­ed Cor­tex plugs is up to 50% faster than using loose plugs, sig­nif­i­cant­ly improv­ing job­site pro­duc­tiv­i­ty and time sav­ings. Addi­tion­al­ly, all Cor­tex Plugs are made from the same com­pos­ite mate­r­i­al as the boards, ensur­ing a 100% per­fect col­or and tex­ture match, and they are war­rantied for the life of the project.
